MARK ALLEN WOODARD (Silas) is returning for his second season in Liberty Mountain, and he is excited to be joined this time around by his real-life wife Beth. Other regional credits include Amadeus and The Book Club Play at NCStage, Dracula at Temple Theatre, City of Dreadful Night, Beer for Breakfast, and many others with Ensemble Stage. Mark appeared in the world premiere of Bob Inman’s stage adaptation of Jan Karon’s Mitford series at Blowing Rock Stage Company. This December, you can catch Mark for his third appearance as Ebeneezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol with Goodly Frame Theatre in Greensboro.

 

BETH WOODARD (Priscilla Martin) is honored to join the cast of Liberty Mountain this year! Just retired from teaching high school theatre, Beth is happy to take the stage again as an actor. She is especially excited to be working under the direction of Caleb Sigmon. When Caleb was in high school, he was the lead actor in a play that she directed. A play that just happened to be adapted by Robert Inman, which was based on his novel, Dairy Queen Days. How wonderful to be working together again! However, Beth is most thrilled to be playing opposite her husband, Mark, an opportunity that last happened in Horn in the West some years ago. What an amazing introduction to retirement! Thank you, Liberty Mountain!

 

Robert Inman (Rev. Mckenzie) is appearing on stage for the first time as Rev. Walter McKenzie, and performing alongside his grandson, Phoenix Ferris. An Alabama native, Bob is known for his 30 years as a TV news anchor in Charlotte, and as a novelist, playwright, screenwriter and singer-songwriter. Visit his website at www.robert-inman.com. Jeremy Homesley (Maj. Patrick Ferguson) is excited to be returning for his eighth season with Liberty Mountain, having originated the role of Major Patrick Ferguson and also playing Silas Martin. Jeremy's other regional credits include Horn in the West (Dr. Geoffrey Stuart), The Diaries of Adam and Eve (Adam), 1776(Thomas Jefferson), and Robin Hood (Robin Hood). Jeremy is also a writer, farmer, and English teacher. He is currently based in Cherryville where he cares for a 150-acre tree farm, a herd of dairy goats, a coop full of chickens, and an impossible number of gardens. He is also the founder of Project Local. He holds a MA in Writing from Lenoir-Rhyne University, and is currently working on a MA in Teaching at UNC Charlotte. Jeremy’s writing has appeared in the Adirondack Center for Writing’s PoemVillage Installations, A Common Well Journal, Nat 1 Publishing's Audience Askew Literary Journal, GreenPrints Magazine, Ghost City Review, and Dreamstones of Summer.

 

PJ Barnes (Col. James Williams) is a Charlotte native and is extremely excited to join the cast! After over 10 years of a hiatus to focus on film, PJ is excited to join the cast of Liberty Mountain! He would like to dedicate his performances to his wife, Jasmin, and his 3 children, Duke, Barry, & Rose-Marie.

 

Joshua Peterson (Col. John Sevier) a long time lover of the theatrical arts, studied Drama at the University of North Carolina Greensboro School of Performing Arts where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, and went on to take part in as many productions. He lives in Monroe, NC, and is excited to be furthering his acting career. Thanks goes out to Sigmon Theatrical, the support of his friends and family, and to his wife KP, who will be very grateful to have him back when all is said and done.

 

William Belvin (Col. Isaac Shelby) is a professional actor who recently returned from his first National Tour with Virginia Repertory Theatre where he performed in A Christmas Carol as Ghost of Christmas Present, I Have A Dream as Daddy King, The Emperor’s New Clothes as Mr. Cashmere, and Honker in The Ugly Duckling. William also just finished a production of Spring Awakening, where he portrayed the character Ernst at Savannah Stage Company in Savannah Georgia. William is so excited to be working with all of these wonderful artists and so grateful for the opportunity!

 

Markus Jones (Joseph Martin) is a stage actor based in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Jones has been acting on stage for 8 years, getting his start in high school, continuing all the way through college where he recently received his Bachelor in Arts from Gardner-Webb University. Jones has performed a large range of roles, some of his favorites being Judge Brack in Hedda Gabler, Ben in The Dumb Waiter, Jamie Wellerstein in The Last Five Years, and Elyot Chase in Private Lives. When Markus isn’t acting, he enjoys exercising, cooking, and writing books. Markus is extremely grateful and excited for the opportunity to be working with Sigmon Theatrical on such a show.

 

Phoenix Ferris (Caleb Martin) is thrilled to be part of Liberty Mountain this year. This will be his third season in the cast and, returning after four years, has missed the smell of gunpowder! Some of his favorite past credits include Legally Blonde The Musical (Emmett Forrest), Trap by Stephen Gregg (multiple roles), Little Women: The Musical (Mr. Laurence), and four years in choir as a tenor/baritone. Aside from theatre, Phoenix is pursuing an education to become an English Literature teacher. He has written two-thirds of a novel trilogy that he is hoping to publish soon. He also enjoys going for walks with his dog Delilah, hanging out with his mom, playing video games, and going to live music. Phoenix wants to thank everyone in the cast and crew for making this season possible!

 

Jim Chandler (King George III) is a distant relative of Josiah Chandler, who fought with Col. Cleveland’s men at the Battle of Kings Mtn. Jim is a local actor/director/historian who has appeared in over 100 plays, and film productions, such as Glory, Andersonville, Lincoln and Bandit Goes Country. This is his second appearance as King George III, first playing the role in 2019. He is also a decorated US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War (1970-1974), flying as a crewman on some 70 missions. He thanks his wife, Susan, and doggie buddy, Charlee, for supporting his acting-- and also honors his longtime acting friend, Robert Jenkins, who passed away earlier this year.

 

Keegan Penny (Germaine) is an EMC actor from Thornton, NH. He recently finished a year-long acting apprenticeship at Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota, where he performed in children’s theatre shows throughout the year. In addition to his primary work, Keegan also performed as an improviser and understudy at FST throughout the season, including the roles of Eddie and Mikey in Shear Madness. Keegan is excited to see what is in store for him in the near future and is looking forward to a successful run of Liberty Mountain.

 

Daylen Jones (Capt. Depeyster) is excited to be in this production of Liberty Mountain. Originally from Ohio, Daylen loves improv comedy and poetry/spoken word and has written his own play. He also has a love for traveling and has been to 6 different countries. His previous credits include Christmas Spirits (Post Morten Players), Twelfth Night (Shepherd Shakespeare Co), and Dreamgirls (Ivan Dixon Players), Hello Dolly(Matthews Playhouse). When he isn't performing, he enjoys painting, drawing, reading, and running.

 

Kevin Johnson (Patrick Henry) is 20 years old and is stepping into professional, live theater for the first time after years of training. His previous work includes projects with HBO and Netflix. Previous credits include the student film To Kill a Butterfly and a commercial for Trident Technical College.

 

Brandon Pendley (Henry Middleton) is excited to be back with Sigmon Theatrical for his second year performing in Liberty Mountain! Brandon graduated from Georgia College in 2021 with a BA in Theatre and is now currently based in Athens, Georgia. He would like to thank his family for supporting him in his pursuit of performing and the leadership of Sigmon Theatrical for having him back on the mountain.

 

Faith Augustine (Ensemble) is a twenty-two-year-old actress and author living in the mountains of North Carolina. She received her training in theatre from Flat Rock Playhouse and recently earned her BA in Theatre Arts & Writing. With over a decade of experience in regional, community, and educational theatre, Faith has compiled a resume full of versatile performances. Among her favorites are Marianne Dashwood from Sense & Sensibility, Millie Dillmount from Thoroughly Modern Millie, Hedda Gabler from Hedda Gabler, and Amanda Prynne from Private Lives. In August, she debuted her novel, Lydia. She is grateful for the opportunity to come together with a group of fellow actors for this production. It is a blessing to create in this time of uncertainty for the arts and its artists. 

 

Christina Littlejohn (Ensemble) is grateful to be joining Liberty Mountain for the second year. She was raised in New Jersey and received her Bachelor of Music Education from UNC Greensboro with a minor in theater. Her roles of wife, teacher, and mom of 5 have kept her happily busy, but she is delighted to have recently returned to the stage. Mae Peterson (Bye-Bye, Birdie) was Christina’s most recent role with Little Theatre of Gastonia. Some of her favorite roles include: Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Mrs. McAfee (Bye-Bye Birdie), and a colonist in the 1992 production of The Lost Colony. Christina realizes the time that being in a show takes away from her family; she is truly thankful for their support and encouragement (especially Stephen, her husband of 29 years).

Elizabeth Medlin (Ensemble) is from Waynesboro, VA and has been involved in theatre for over a decade. She has performed all over the Carolinas with Lee Street Theatre, Piedmont Players, The Uwharrie Players and more. She joined Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte back in 2017 in American Idiot (Heather), followed by Hand to God (Jessica), The Great American Trailer Park Christmas Musical (Pickles), and Silence! The Musical(Dream Clarice/Lamb). Her most recent credit is ATC’s Rock of Ages (Sherrie) in 2021. She is thrilled to be back with Sigmon Theatrical after touring with them in Dinosaurs Alive! (Finn), and performing in The Carolina Pumpkin Spelltacular, and Winterfest at Tryon Resort in 2021. She looks forward to making more magic.

 

Christopher Morrow (Ensemble) hails from Angier, NC, and has made Boone his home. He joins Liberty Mountain for his first season. Chris's dedication to his craft is evident through his educational background, holding a BA in Vocal Performance and Theatre from Campbell University. He is also an SAFD Certified Actor/Combatant and a Brown Belt in Sil-Lum Kung Fu.

Beyond the stage, Chris's artistic contributions extend to the world of film, having served as the Stunt Coordinator, Actor, and Key Grip for the local short film, Blood Is My Fate. He also brings a wealth of experience from his time as a cowboy at Tweetsie Railroad. Chris's adventurous spirit and love for exploration have taken him to various corners of the world, including Italy, Wales, Ireland, and South Korea. His passion for travel fuels his creative inspiration and broadens his perspective as an artist.

 

Taylor Parker (Ensemble) is a graduate of Catawba College, where she received a BFA in Musical Theatre with a minor in Music. After touring with Missoula Children’s Theatre, she was accepted into the Alabama School of the Arts at the University of Mobile where she graduated with Honors and obtained a Masters of Art in Musical Theatre. Her most recent credits include, Alice Murphy in Bright Star, Lauren in Kinky Boots, Meg in Little Women, Miss Honey in Matilda. She would like to thank her husband Jonathan for always being her biggest supporter!

 

Lauren Routledge (Ensemble) is a graduate with honors from the Alabama School of the Arts, University of Mobile where she received a BFA in Musical Theatre. Lauren has had the opportunity to tour vocally around the world with the Voices of Mobile. Some of her past credits include: M’Lynn in Steel Magnolias, Lucy in Bright Star, Helsa in Musical Comedy Murders of the 1940’s, and Soprano in The All Night Strut. She is grateful to her family and expansive support system and is so glad you decided to "Join the Revolution!"

 

Jenayeda Shepherd (Ensemble) is a North Carolina native who has trained for over seventeen years in all types of dance and has now been a working actor for over seven years. She has attended The Debbie Allen Dance Academy located in California and has also worked with The Jim Henson Company for puppetry. Maximum effort is the goal in everything she does. She also teaches dance at Dancer’s Avenue in Winston Salem, Dance Explosion School of Performing Arts and even choreographed a recent production for Actor’s Theatre. Her most recent acting roles include I Am Queen Charlotte at Belk Theatre, The Refugees at Davidson College and Hype Man at Actor’s Theatre Charlotte. Jenayeda is so appreciative for every opportunity and takes nothing for granted.

 

Mattie Lucas (Production Stage Manager) is returning for her second season as Production Stage Manager and her sixth as Sound Designer at Liberty Mountain - having previously acted in the show for four seasons. Mattie is a longtime associate of Sigmon Theatrical, performing in touring shows and immersive experiences such as Blackbeard’s Pirate Adventure, The Carolina Pumpkin Spelltacular, and The Sleepy Hollow Adventure, and providing sound design for many Sigmon Theatrical productions. Previous sound design credits include Wait Until Dark (Green Room Community Theater), The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (Davidson Community Players), Cyrano (Green Room Community Theater), and Tweetsie Railroad's Wild West Train Adventure.

 

Josh Price (Assistant Stage Manager, Wardrobe/Hair/Makeup Supervisor) is celebrating his first season working with Liberty Mountain. He has previously worked in practical effects for Hollywood productions, is a licensed hair stylist, and serves as the lead makeup artist for a haunted attraction during the Halloween season. Thank you to Caleb and Liberty Mountain for this opportunity.

 

Ashley Marie DeMar (Music Director) is an actor, writer, recording artist, and arts educator, who is thrilled to be returning to Liberty Mountain! Originally from New York, Ashley holds a BFA in Theater Performance from Niagara University. Professional credits include Horn in the West (Martha Stuart), several immersive experiences with Sigmon Theatrical, Liberty Mountain (Priscilla Martin), Merry-Go-Round Youth Theatre Tour, The Diaries of Adam and Eve (Eve), Robin Hood (Maid Marian), Into the Woods (The Witch), 1776 (Martha Jefferson) and Twelfth Night (Viola). Currently a K-5 Art Teacher in Gaston Co, with previous teaching tenure with the Barter Youth Academy, Merry-Go-Round Youth Theatre, and as an Intern with Applied Dramatist Lauren Arena-McCann in London. Allison Collins (Weaponry Supervisor) is a local Fight Director and stage combat educator. This is her fourth season with Liberty Mountain as the weapons supervisor and associate fight choreographer. Her work has been seen throughout Charlotte and the surrounding area. Notable credits include Witch and POTUS with Charlotte Conservatory Theatre, Misery at Theatre Charlotte, Sweat at UNCC, and She Kills Monsters at Coker University.
