JOB DESCRIPTION: Learn, push yourself and cultivate your craft this summer in a rigorously paced professional theatre environment. We are casting paid onstage and offstage roles in Liberty Mountain - The Revolutionary Drama. Actors and Technicians will be working alongside a professional theatre staff to bring this massive production to life for the 2019 Summer Season. There are positions open in the following departments: Acting, Stage Management, Wardrobe, Wig & Makeup.
Company Members will also be collaborating on a Second Stage Production. Company Members will wear multiple hats with on and offstage responsibilities as well as being involved with educational outreach, promotional calls and more. This show features lots of combat sequences, quick changes, and running.
TIME COMMITMENT: This is a seasonal position. Start Date for Full Company is June 15th (Move-In Day is June 14th) and the End Date is July 21st (Move-Out Day is July 22nd.) 30 hours a week, with a day off each rehearsal week. With the exception of special events, all performances are on weekends. Housing is provided, if needed. There will be an intensive two-week rehearsal period with up to four performances in one weekend.
COMPANY HOUSING: Unlike most summer stock/professional theatre jobs and internships, we are able to offer free housing to Company Members on a need-based, first come/first serve basis.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: For onstage positions, we are casting 19 men and 6 women. We are seeking candidates that are highly driven, enthusiastic and resourceful. You must have full availability, pass a background check, drug test, and be willing to make a seven-week commitment (including three weeks of rehearsal).
APPLICATION/AUDITION PROCESS: Applicants must submit a recent headshot or snapshot and their résumés. The application form is below. No previous professional experience necessary.
ADULT PERFORMER AUDITION INFO: Company Members must audition and interview in person, or submit a video. All performers are required to present a dramatic monologue from a play or movie, not to exceed 60 seconds. Actors intereseted in singing in the show may also present 16 bars of a musical theatre song, acapella. No accompaniment will be provided. Performers acting AND singing will be alloted 90 seconds. Please do not to use dialects. Standard American diction should be used for all audition material. Stay away from explicit or socially offensive material. Costumes and props are unnecessary; just bring yourself and your talent. Following your audition or video submission, you may be asked to participate in an interview whether it is in person, on phone or via Skype.
YOUTH PERFORMER AUDITION INFO: We are casting three youth volunteer performers between the ages of 10 and 16. Two young men and one young lady for the roles of Caleb Martin, Franklin McQueen and Sally Martin. No monologue or memorized song is needed for this audition. Performers will work with an acting coach on location with scenes from our show. A parent or guardian must be present for the information meeting that will be held at the beginning of the evening. No parents or guardians will be allowed in the room during the audition.
